The Factory and the War: 1940–1945

1940 — construction of the factory began.

And in 1941, evacuation trains arrived in Yurga: workers and equipment from Stalingrad, Leningrad, Moscow, Kramatorsk.

They built in barracks, without roads, in winter hands stuck to metal — but they launched the factory. February 6, 1943 — the machine-building plant was officially put into operation.

In June 1944, the first products were produced, tested at the proving ground, and sent to the front. Yurga became a worker city and a soldier city: 12 thousand went to the front, more than 5.5 thousand did not return.
